Meet krystal, your birth bestie.
I never imagined my path would lead me to birth work. Born and raised in Toronto with a deep passion for storytelling, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television Arts at Ryerson University. For over 12 years, I thrived in television production, working on some of Canada’s most popular shows. It was an exciting and fulfilling career, but behind the scenes, I struggled with persistent health issues that conventional medicine couldn’t seem to resolve. That struggle led me to explore holistic healing, and through years of experimenting with natural remedies, I finally found relief.
Then came 2020, a year that changed everything. As a single woman, I watched my pregnant friends navigate highly medicalized birth experiences and realized how little I knew about the process. Determined to educate myself—not just for my future child but for my own peace of mind—I dove into learning. As a c-section baby myself, I had witnessed firsthand the lasting impact it can have on a random corporate doula course, I was introduced—by what felt like divine intervention—to the original Wise Woman of Birth. That encounter shifted everything.
Training to become a doula completely transformed my life. I entered the class with zero knowledge and became a sponge, absorbing everything I could about true physiological birth.
What started as a personal quest for understanding turned into a profound calling. While my own birth story is still unwritten, I now have the privilege of walking alongside families as they navigate pregnancy and birth in the Greater Toronto Area. Supporting and empowering them through this sacred journey is an honour I cherish every day.
